My name is Katie and I am from a small farming community in Minnesota that is so cute it looks like it’s straight out of a book. I am a Jesus follower, baseball
enthusiast, coffee fanatic, adrenaline junkie and travel aficionado. After a
service trip during my sophomore year of college I have known that I wanted to
dedicate more than a week to serving others. Since then I have searched for a
long term volunteer service and I am really excited that I can fulfill that call through Nuestros Pequeños
Hermanos (NPH).
I have been given the
opportunity to serve with NPH Mexico. NPH is an international network of
orphanages throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. I will be serving as a
Project Assistant in Cuernavaca, Mexico from January 2016-January 2017, and I
could not be more excited!
I am not really one to blog, but I know a lot of
family and friends have asked me to blog my journey, so this is my attempt to
fulfill their wish. Any laughter, prayers, or advice is warmly welcomed as this
23 year old gringa moves 2,000 miles from home.
PS if you don't get the reference of my blog's title go listen to "Pippin's Song," then pop some popcorn, watch the Lord of the Ring trilogy and then tell me how much to love the movies so we can bond over it.
